I have been following the lawsuit by the federal government against the state of Arizona and I am reading some really ridiculous statements.
For example:
"Opponents say the law will lead to racial profiling and trample on the rights of the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in Arizona"
Now I read this as a really stupid statement, because if you are breaking the LAW being an illegal immigrant, then are you already without certain rights? It is a federal crime to come into this country without proper documentation. Try doing that at the airport and see what happens there!
If You go to any other country you will get arrested and the sentence is not short. But if you come to the USA illegally you can apply for public assistance and get it, food stamps, housing, medical care, and if your children are born here they are automatic citizens. It does not work like that anywhere else in the world.
Something needs to be done as I know exactly what it is like in arizona. I lived there for a couple years and it is so easy to pick out the illegal immigrants. They stand on the corners of Home Depot and other stores like that and solicit for Day labor. Everyone knows they are NOT legal but the heads are turned the other way by the authorities.
Just try that in another country and see how long you get away with it. There are immigration rules that millions of people from other countries have followed to become residents of the USA. Those who followed the cuurent immigration laws went thru criminal Background checks, medical check-ups, proof of income, and basic housing verification requirements.
But the current administration is willing to give tens of millions of illegal immigrants amnesty. If you are here illegally then is Just OK with them.
I think if you are interested in coming to the USA then go thru the proper procedures like everyone else did. We do not get graduation certificates from college just for showing up. You have to do the WORK!
